Schedule Overview

We're excited to share a detailed agenda in the coming months! In the meantime, we wanted to provide a high-level tentative overview to help you plan your travel and time in Nairobi.

Wednesday, Sept 13

Sunday, Sept 10

Monday, Sept 11

Tuesday, Sept 12

Planning Your Travel

Summit kicks off on Sunday, September 10 – we suggest you arrive the evening prior on Saturday, September 9. We'll close things out on Wednesday, September 13, with a final farewell party that evening. *If you plan on attending pre-or-post trips, your arrival and departure travel dates will vary (see below more details). Most foreigners need a visa to travel to Kenya. Travelers from only 43 countries can visit Kenya without a visa for up to 90 days. Unless you’re from a visa-exempt country, you will need a visa for your trip to Kenya. All Kenyan travel visas are now issued online ONLY (click here to apply). Visas are no longer available on arrival in Kenya.

Hotel is approximately 25 km from Jomo Kenyatta Airport (NBO)

Rooms are first come, first serve

Our Venue: Tribe & Trademark Hotels

Our main venue will be the Tribe Hotel and Trademark Hotel, both located within the gated Village Market in the capital's Embassy District (it's a five-minute walk from one hotel to the other). We'll host most of our programming here and provide transportation service to and from the hotel for all our special events and experiences. We expect our block to sell out — see special links below for each hotel. Book now to guarantee a room under our special rate!

Pre & Post Trips

Extend your stay exploring the beautiful country of Kenya with Fellows by joining pre- and post-Summit excursions! Two of our Fellows have planned fun-filled excursions for the network, providing the opportunity to journey to Lamu prior to the Summit for a relaxing beachside getaway, or take part in an immersive safari experience with exclusive behind-the-scenes access (all while enjoying luxurious, first class accommodations). Act fast and share your interest in joining the trips as spots are limited! With these exceptional experiences, you'll make memories that will last a lifetime, all while meeting new Fellows and reuniting with old friends. Are you planning a pre or post trip and would like to invite the network? Add your information to this form so Fellows can review other trips in the works!

What Can You Expect?

Part family reunion and part ecosystem excavation, Kauffman Fellows Summits are held in international locations with compelling startup ecosystems – and we can’t wait to explore all Africa has to offer. Every year, Summit attracts more than 300 Fellows, offering attendees insight and access to investment and partnership opportunities in the region. Over the coming months, we'll be announcing keynote and breakout speakers. In the meantime, take a peek at our initial announcement to learn more about the Africa Fellows committee and check out Summit recap videos below!
